La Historia de Obra Social Franciscana

Un legado de confianza, trabajo y comunidad

After World War II, six Croatian Franciscans —Father José, Father Blaz, Father Urbano, Father Pascual, Father Bonifacio, and Father Lino— arrived in Argentina with a clear purpose: to help their community and support the Franciscan Province.

With humility and artisanal work, they began producing honey, giving birth to Obra Social Franciscana. In its early years, the company was sustained by people’s trust and by the founders’ conviction that honest work could be a true form of service.

The products were made in Pilar and Hurlingham, through natural processes and without labels, intended for neighbors and the local community who, from the very beginning, chose them for their quality and authenticity. Word of mouth became their best introduction.

Over the years, the company grew without losing its essence. In the 1960s, they consolidated their presence, and in the 1970s they formalized their processes under the leadership of Father Pascual, always upholding artisanal work and quality as their hallmark.

Propolis became their star product, a symbol of their unwavering commitment to health and natural well-being. That trust, built over more than 60 years, remains the reason why people choose Obra Social Franciscana: the certainty of guaranteed quality in every product.

Their efforts were also recognized in historic moments, such as their donations during the Falklands War, reflecting their solidarity and genuine bond with society.

Neither crises —such as the harsh economic period of 1989— nor market changes altered their purpose. Always faithful to their values of trust, respect, and ethics, they stayed the course, relying on genuine work and close ties with the community.

Today, Obra Social Franciscana is much more than a company:

It is a trusted reference in natural products, present in the everyday lives of those who value quality and authentic work.

A living story that continues to grow, driven by those who trust in the authenticity of its essence.
